Seminar complete...let the hoops begin

I was one of 2 potential patients at the Lap-band seminar last night. It made for a very intimate, one on one experience with the Dr. My mind is made up, this is what I want to do. Now the insurance red tape bullshit begins. All I could figure out from their website today was that this particular clinic would be out-of-network "if" they will even cover the procedure. So I called and even the rep couldn't tell if it was a covered procedure. She said I would need to be officially diagnosed morbidly obese and then the Dr would need to submit a pre-approval request. Then it would take 15 days for them to make a determination and then an additional 30 to respond. Good grief.
