We took the boat out on Puget Sound today. We dropped some crab pots neat Point Whitehorn then headed over to Orcas Island. This is the Rosario Resort & Spa, formerly a mansion belonging to Robert Moran, a noted ship builder, businessman, and former mayor of Seattle. I can't imagine how a family, even a large one used all the space when it was a home. It is enormous!

Heading back to the boat. Ours is the closer one, the one in front belongs to our friends.
We headed back and hauled our pots, looks pretty full, huh? Only 1 keeper out of the while thing. We ended up with 5 from our own pots and our friends gave us 2 that they would have had to put back due to catch limits.
The ride down was quite rough, the wind was stacking the waves against us. Coming back was a little better, then we came across this:
This is the Schooner Zodiac. Their mast broke while they had 22 students (don't know how old) on board. When we pulled up the Coast Guard was already there and had a vessel large enough to take everyone on its way. Their Facebook page says no one was seriously injured. Scary!
All in all we had a great time. What an adventure!

Looks like an incredibly delicious day! I was on Orcas 20 years ago but my time there (several hours) was not as much fun.
